Icons - Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
A speculative project for Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. A poster series and motion piece designed to highlight “icons” of the hall.
The Idea:
The Cleveland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame cycles through different exhibits throughout the year. “Icons” is a speculative exhibit exploration focused on highlighting iconic musical artists that have heavily influenced Rock and Roll, as well as music as a whole.
Process:
Starting with type exploration, I looked for ways to communicate the unique musical styles of each artist by simply manipulating type.
Motion:
Once the poster series had been finalized, I moved on to creating a motion piece. This piece would be played on screens around the Hall of Fame to draw in the audience and tease what they might expect from the exhibit.
Story Board:
Starting with the poster series functioning as the style frame, I created a story board for how the original poster styles could be used to create movement and dynamic imagery for a motion piece.
